奈良市 Nara-shi

Nara is the capital of Japan’s Nara Prefecture, in south-central. The city has significant temples and artwork dating to the 8th century, when it was Japan’s capital. Deer freely roam in Nara Park, site of Todai-ji temple, which I was so much looking forward to.

At Todai-ji, Daibutsu, a 15m-high bronze Buddha, is displayed in a grand, wooden hall.

The Shinto shrine Kasuga-taisha, founded in 768 C.E., has 3,000-plus lanterns. Japan is indeed beautiful.

The nice thing about Nara, compared to Kyoto, is that the main places of interest are fairly concentrated and can easily be reached by train and explored on foot. n the rural areas outside of Nara city are a number of ancient tombs, ruins and other historical relics, which is accessible by local trains.

Ancient capital of Japan with lots of history. Walked around 10 kms and explored this place. This place has over 1000 " Silka Deer" freely roaming around everywhere. Place of scenic natural beauty with autumn leaves all over. Capturing Autumn leaves at its best!!
